I joined the accountancy sector in 2011 and during the early stages of my career, I worked in small accountancy firms whilst completing my AAT, ATT, and ACCA qualifications.

Working in smaller firms provided me with practical experience in all things SME by working closely with and advising business owners/directors on accounts, a wide range of taxes, and future planning.

I joined Shorts as a manager in 2019, was promoted to a Senior Manager in the Owner Managed business team in 2022, before my promotion to director in March 2024.

As a team, we work closely with our clients and are early adopters of new software which help us progressively improve our services on a continuous basis. as a result, I ensure that the clients within my portfolio receive and understand the benefits to both them and their businesses.

My personal journey at Shorts

I joined Shorts as a manager in 2019 and was promoted to a Senior Manager in 2022 before being promoted to Owner Manged Business Director in April 2024.

Shorts provide development opportunities for their team and often promote internally from within.  There are plenty of great opportunities to develop both personally and professionally.

Already in my time with Shorts, I’ve had the opportunity to experience new challenges such as having involvement with departmental planning and strategy to working with international clients.

One of the most important reasons that I like working for Shorts is because they are a family-friendly firm and genuinely give you a great work/life balance whilst maintaining a proactive and professional service to all clients. This is something quite bespoke to Shorts, who take pride in supporting both the team and their work/life balance.
