  • Audit, accountancy and compliance specialist for the firm

I joined Shorts with over 25 years of experience in the profession. This included working for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Grant Thornton in Sheffield and having worked abroad in Australia for two years post qualification.

I maintain contact throughout the year with clients, my role is to manage the audit fieldwork team, keeping clients informed of progress on a regular basis, as well as being a technical sounding board, particularly in this period of change of UK GAAP.

I have a strong technical accounting background, including a year’s secondment to the technical team of a national accountancy firm, and head up Shorts’ internal technical department for audit, accountancy and compliance matters.

I specialise in the provision of audit services for businesses and have worked closely with many of our charities and not-for-profit organisations with formal board structures, including trustees.

I have a varied client base, including large groups with overseas operations, family owner-managed businesses, along with acting for all the firm’s charity clients.
